Job summary

Johnson Electric in Stratford, Ontario, seeks a Millwright-Machine Builder to join our onsite team. You will read drawings, assemble and test custom automation equipment, and support commissioning from build through customer acceptance.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma or technical training and 5+ years in automation or millwright work, with strong blueprint reading and hydraulic/pneumatic know-how. Travel minimal; day shift with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or equivalent technical training or relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in automation, machine building, or millwright work.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical assembly and blueprint reading.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to use precision measurement tools.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and bills of materials.
  • Assemble and fit complex parts and sub-assemblies for custom automation equipment.
  • Integrate pneumatic and hydraulic systems into machinery.
  • Fabricate and machine basic components as required.
  • Conduct testing and adjustments to meet specifications.
  • Support machine debug, integration, and commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate with electricians and PLC programmers during builds.
  • Train customers, maintenance, and operators on equipment and safety procedures.
