Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods Inc. Saskatoon is seeking a Millwright to join our maintenance team. You will install, troubleshoot and repair complex production equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and read mechanical drawings to support manufacturing efficiency.

We value teamwork, strong mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work with minimal supervision across rotating shifts, including afternoons and weekends in a unionized environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Journeyperson Certificate.
• 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset.
• Extensive mechanical knowledge including power transmission, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Knowledge of conveyors, engines, pumps, grinders and electrical/electronic controls.
• Strong teamwork, attention to detail and ability to read mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair complex production equipment with minimal supervision.
• Operate production equipment and check performance as required.
• Perform preventative maintenance (PM) procedures and respond to work requests.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings/schematics; machining and fabricating as needed.
• Ensure compliance with GMPs, HACCP, WHMIS and health & safety requirements.
• Assist with inventory and labor tracking on the maintenance system.
