The Facilities Management department is seeking a Full-time Regular Millwright.
The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) department, part of Facilities Management, ensures that building structures and systems for all University owned and leased properties are operated and maintained reliably, efficiently, and cost-effectively to provide a safe and comfortable environment for campus users. The campus is divided into 6 operating zones.
This position reports to the Maintenance & Planning-Maintenance Supervisor and involves work under minimal supervision.
The Millwright is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of rotating equipment and systems. The role involves high physical and mental demands, with a workload that includes equipment ranging from antiquated to high-tech electrical systems. The work requires managing operational deadlines, shifting priorities, and organizational skills to ensure facility performance.
This position is part of the AUPE Collective Bargaining Unit. The standard shift is 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, with potential for shift changes, overtime, standby, and emergency callouts.
Work conditions include confined spaces, scaffolds, lifts up to 4 meters, heavy lifting up to 25 kg, and outdoor and hazardous environments.
The primary purpose is to perform skilled trade-level installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. Duties include:
