Qualifications

• Strong trouble-shooting skills in automotive/industrial manufacturing.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair large industrial stamping presses and related production equipment.

Job description

We're excited to share an opportunity for a Licensed Millwright to join a well-established automotive manufacturer in the Waterloo Region, offering straight days or straight afternoons, competitive compensation and the opportunity to work with large-scale stamping equipment!

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Millwright who enjoys hands‑on mechanical troubleshooting and working with heavy industrial machinery. The successful candidate will join an established maintenance team responsible for maintaining stamping presses and other industrial production equipment. The position offers a variety of technical challenges, including mechanical repairs, hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication and equipment improvements.

Shift: Straight Days (8:00 AM–4:00 PM) or Straight Afternoons (4:00 PM–12:00 AM), Monday to Friday

Compensation: $46–$50/hour

Benefits: 3 Weeks Vacation, 2% RRSP Matching

Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair large industrial stamping presses and associated production equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment failures to minimize production downtime.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of industrial machinery and mechanical systems.
• Identify recurring equipment issues, determine root causes and implement appropriate repairs or improvements.
• Inspect, repair and replace mechanical components, including bearings, gearboxes, drives and related assemblies.
• Perform welding, fabrication and machining activities to support equipment repairs and modifications.
• Assist with machinery installations, equipment upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Interpret mechanical drawings, schematics and technical documentation to support maintenance activities.
• Work collaboratively with production and maintenance personnel to prioritize repairs and maintain equipment reliability.
• Complete maintenance documentation and follow established safety procedures.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Valid Industrial Mechanic Millwright licence (433A); Preference to candidates that have completed an Apprenticeship Program through Skilled Trades Ontario.
• Previous hands‑on experience maintaining and troubleshooting large industrial stamping presses, preferably transfer presses.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities in an automotive or industrial manufacturing environment.
• Practical experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with mechanical drives, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors and related industrial equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
• Experience with welding, fabrication and manual machining would be considered an asset.
• Familiarity with automated manufacturing equipment and press feeding systems would be considered an asset.
• Strong understanding of preventative maintenance, root cause analysis and industrial safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
