Job summary

West Fraser is seeking a Millwright to join our maintenance team in Alberta, Blue Ridge region. The role focuses on maintaining pumps, conveyors, hydraulic systems, and other critical equipment across the manufacturing process.

You will perform preventative maintenance, supervise contractors, manage costs, and learn reliability systems while documenting repairs and outcomes. Relocation support is available for suitable candidates.

Qualifications

• Maintenance of pumps, conveyors, mechanical systems and hydraulics reading blueprints/diagrams
• Willingness to learn PDM programs and reliability training
• Contractor supervision and cost management
• Operate hoisting devices and use fall protection equipment
• Document repairs and verify outcomes

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers & chains, bearings, and hydraulics involved in the manufacturing process.

You’ll Do:

You have:

• A valid Inter-Provincial or Provincial Journeyperson Millwright certification, or a Millwrighting Apprentice preparing to enroll in their 4 th year
• Mechanical aptitude; excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to work closely with other trades and employees
• Commitment to working safely and creating a safe workplace
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexible schedule in order to work days, nights and/or weekend shifts

Compensation Package:

• The hourly pay rate for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location.
