Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking skilled Millwright Apprentices (2nd year+) and Journeypersons for on-site maintenance on complex infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities include operating rig equipment, aligning components, and performing preventive maintenance to ensure safe, reliable operation of equipment. You will work with experienced teams on challenging industrial construction projects and contribute to equipment reliability, safety, and daily field documentation.

Qualifications

• Valid Provincial Journeyperson Ticket or indentured in a Provincial apprenticeship program.
• CSTS-20 Certificate.
• Experience as a Millwright in an industrial construction environment.
• Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg.
• Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Operate rig equipment and dollies to move heavy machinery and parts.
• Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts.
• Align and test equipment and adjust.
• Perform preventive and operational maintenance using procedures such as vibration analysis.
• Trouble-shoot hydraulic, pneumatic and programmable logic controls.
• Tack welding and fabrication and maintain an inventory of replacement parts.
• Perform field work to a high quality with proper documentation of work.
• Perform proactive maintenance, trouble shooting and repairs for instrumentation and control equipment.
• Journeyperson will mentor apprentices respectfully and oversee their safety.
