Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. in Calgary, Alberta seeks Millwright Apprentice 2nd year+ and Journeypersons to perform maintenance, repair and upkeep of equipment on project sites.

You will support safe operation of machinery critical to project success and mentor apprentices on safety and best practices. Ideal candidates hold a provincial journeyperson ticket or are enrolled in a provincial apprenticeship, with CSTS-20 with strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Valid provincial journeyperson ticket or indentured in a provincial apprenticeship program.
• CSTS-20 safety certification required.
• Experience as Millwright in an industrial construction environment.
• Ability to lift up to 25 kg and work in all weather conditions.
• Strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Operate rig equipment and dollies to move heavy machinery and parts.
• Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts.
• Align and test equipment and adjust.
• Perform preventive and operational maintenance using procedures such as vibration analysis.
• Trouble-shoot hydraulic, pneumatic and PLC controls.
• Tack welding and fabrication and inventory management of replacement parts.
• Perform field work with proper documentation of work.
• Proactive maintenance and repairs for instrumentation and control equipment.
• Journeyperson will mentor apprentices and oversee safety.
