Job summary

Saint-Gobain CertainTeed in Redcliff, Alberta, is seeking an Industrial Millwright Mechanic to keep plant equipment running with minimal downtime. You will repair, align and maintain machinery, working with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and fabricating parts as needed.

This 2‑2‑3 rotating schedule (days, nights and weekends) requires reading drawings, using CMMS and SAP, operating forklifts and aerial lifts, and collaborating with the maintenance team to meet production targets and

Qualifications

• Must be Albertan journeyman millwright or Red Seal.
• 3-5 years in industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Experience with CMMS and SAP systems.
• Ability to read drawings and machine parts from sketches.

Responsibilities

• Performs work and repairs to machinery and plant support systems with regards to mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical.
• Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine maintenance on machinery.
• Works with a wide array of precision tools.
• Fabricates custom parts, fixtures and guarding by welding and cutting.
• Assembles and installs machinery and equipment such as mixers, saws, conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, motors.
• Aligns couplings on pumps and various couplings.
• Troubleshoots and repairs machinery in breakdowns to meet production needs.
• Participates in process and machine improvements.

As an Industrial Millwright Mechanic, you will be challenged to provide your strong technical skills with a can-do attitude to effectively resolve all repairs and maintenance necessary so that the plant equipment can function at a high level of performance with the minimum amount of downtime.

Responsibilities:

• Performs work and repairs to machinery and plant support systems with regards to mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical
• Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine maintenance work on machinery
• Works with a wide array of precision tools
• Fabricates custom parts, fixtures and guarding by means of arc welding, grinding, oxyacetylene cutting
• Assembles and installs machinery and equipment such as mixers, saws, pullers, precision bearings, gearboxes, clutches, motors, shafts, sprockets, chains, conveyors etc.
• Alignment skills, couplings on pumps and various couplings
• Participates and supports World Class Manufacturing initiatives
• Troubleshoots and repairs machinery and equipment in breakdown situations to ensure production requirements are met
• Participate in making improvements to process and machines

Qualifications:

• Must be a valid Alberta Journeyman Maintenance Millwright or Red Seal
• 3-5 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment
• Will consider an applicant who has completed at least 2 year apprenticeship
• Experience with working with a CMMS system
• Some experience working with Maintenance SAP system
• Ability to operate forklifts and aerial lifts
• Understanding of bearings and their functions
• Must be able to read drawings and machine parts from a sketch or sample
• Excellent trouble shooting and analytical skills
• The unionized plant operates on a 24/7 schedule
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Work' schedule includes days, nights, and weekends, shift is a 2-2-3 rotating every 2 weeks
• Welding experience considered an asset
