Job summary

CertainTeed, a Saint-Gobain subsidiary, is seeking an Industrial Millwright in Redcliff to perform maintenance and repairs, ensuring equipment runs with minimal downtime. The role requires reading drawings, welding, and the ability to work variable shifts in a 24/7 operation.

Ideal candidates will hold Alberta Journeyman/Millwright or Red Seal, with 3–5 years in industry, CMMS and SAP experience, and strong troubleshooting skills within a team environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold Alberta Journeyman/Millwright or Red Seal.
• 3–5 years in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Experience with CMMS and SAP.
• Ability to read drawings and machine parts from a sketch or sample.
• Welding experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs to machinery and plant systems including mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical.
• Clean, lubricate and maintain machinery.
• Use precision tools and fabricate parts and guarding.
• Assemble and install machinery such as mixers, saws, conveyors, gearboxes, etc.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns to meet production requirements.
• Support World Class Manufacturing initiatives.
• Participate in process and machine improvements.

CertainTeed has an exciting career opportunity for a Millwright based in Redcliff to join our team. This is a great chance to join a Top Employer and contribute to our growth and success.

As an Industrial Millwright Mechanic, you will be challenged to provide your strong technical skills with a can-do attitude to effectively resolve all repairs and maintenance necessary so that the plant equipment can function at a high level of performance with the minimum amount of downtime.

Responsibilities:

• Performs work and repairs to machinery and plant support systems with regards to mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical
• Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine maintenance work on machinery
• Works with a wide array of precision tools
• Fabricates custom parts, fixtures and guarding by means of arc welding, grinding, oxyacetylene cutting
• Assembles and installs machinery and equipment such as mixers, saws, pullers, precision bearings, gearboxes, clutches, motors, shafts, sprockets, chains, conveyors etc.
• Alignment skills, couplings on pumps and various couplings
• Participates and supports World Class Manufacturing initiatives
• Troubleshoots and repairs machinery and equipment in breakdown situations to ensure production requirements are met
• Participate in making improvements to process and machines

Qualifications:

• Must be a valid Alberta Journeyman Maintenance Millwright or Red Seal
• 3-5 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment
• Will consider an applicant who has completed at least 2 year apprenticeship
• Experience with working with a CMMS system
• Some experience working with Maintenance SAP system
• Ability to operate forklifts and aerial lifts
• Understanding of bearings and their functions
• Must be able to read drawings and machine parts from a sketch or sample
• Excellent trouble shooting and analytical skills
• The unionized plant operates on a 24/7 schedule
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Work’ schedule includes days, nights, and weekends, shift is a 2-2-3 rotating every 2 weeks
• Welding experience considered an asset
