Johnvince Company™ is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic / Millwright to join our confectionery manufacturing team in Belleville, Ontario. This full-time hourly position requires hands-on maintenance, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to support chocolate production operations.

Qualifications

• Strong industrial maintenance experience with mechanical troubleshooting.
• Millwright certification is an asset but not required.
• 5–7 years of industrial maintenance, preferably in food, chocolate, or confectionery manufacturing.
• Experience with pumps, fluid handling, transfer systems, mechanical drives, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, and process equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting is an asset.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment.
• Maintain and service pumps, fluid transfer systems, piping, valves, conveyors, mixers, tempering equipment, and other mechanical systems used in chocolate and confectionery manufacturing.
• Diagnose equipment failures and complete repairs to minimize downtime.
• Install, modify, and commission production equipment as required.
• Assist with continuous improvement to improve equipment reliability and plant efficiency.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to support safe operations.
• Ensure all work complies with food safety, GMP, and health & safety standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and support preventive maintenance programs.

Position Overview

Donini Chocolate is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in a full-time hourly position. We are looking for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong mechanical aptitude and industrial experience to support our chocolate manufacturing operations. A Millwright background is considered an asset; however, we welcome candidates with the right combination of technical skills, troubleshooting ability, and hands-on maintenance experience. The successful candidate will have experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment preferably within a food manufacturing environment. Experience in chocolate or confectionery operations is considered a significant asset.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment.
• Maintain and service pumps, fluid transfer systems, piping, valves, conveyors, mixers, tempering equipment, and other mechanical systems used in chocolate and confectionery manufacturing.
• Diagnose equipment failures and complete repairs efficiently to minimize production downtime.
• Install, modify, and commission production equipment as required.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and plant efficiency.
• Work closely with production and quality teams to support safe and efficient operations.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with food safety, GMP, and workplace health and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and support preventative maintenance programs.

Qualifications

• Strong industrial maintenance experience with proven mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Millwright certification is considered an asset but is not required for candidates with relevant experience.
• Minimum 5–7 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in food, chocolate, or confectionery manufacturing.
• Strong experience with pumps, fluid handling and transfer systems, mechanical drives, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, and process equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting experience is considered an asset.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
