Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking a Mill Operator (MAC00518) for its Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. You will join the Mill Operations Team, reporting to the Surface Supervisor, and contribute to safe, efficient plant performance.

The role requires hands-on mechanical aptitude, readiness to work 7/7 shifts, adherence to safety standards, and accurate data reporting. Compensation includes base salary with potential bonus, in line with local market norms.

Qualifications

• Basic Mill Core knowledge
• Literacy and numeracy to meet role
• Experience in industrial/production settings is valuable
• Mechanical mindset with attention to parameters and differences
• Team oriented with ability to work independently or with others

Responsibilities

• Report to the Surface Supervisor and be part of the Mill Operations Team, upholding values and safety
• Complete prestart checks and regular plant checks
• Ensure accurate data reporting in documents (e.g. Excel)
• Maintain high housekeeping standards
• Adhere to Mill Operation Standards
• Complete and record sampling as required
• Be willing to work in Crushing, Grinding or elution circuits and other duties as prescribed

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

• Reporting to the Surface Supervisor, you will be part of the Mill Operations Team. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
• Ensure all prestart checks are completed and regular plant checks are performed;
• Accuracy in reporting process data in relevant documents (e.g. excel);
• Ensure housekeeping is maintained at a high standard;
• Adhere to Mill Operation Standards;
• Ensure all required sampling is completed and recorded appropriately;
• Capacity and willingness to work in Crushing, Grinding or elution circuit;
• Other duties as prescribed.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Competency in Basic Mill Common core and working toward other modules as required;
• Literacy and numeracy to meet role;
• Aptitude or experience consistent with industrial setting;
• Mechanically minded appreciating operations within acceptable parameters and ability to note subtle differences;
• Team focused, work independently and with others;
• Ability to anticipate and plan work requirements;
• Flexible approach to work, capacity to work in same or different areas as prescribed by Shift Supervisor.
