Job summary

Bombardier is seeking a Methods Agent - Tooling to collaborate with production, tooling and engineering teams in manufacturing aircraft components. The role involves analyzing tool requests, creating estimates, defining tool concepts, and coordinating with external suppliers.

Travel to sites may be required to inspect and validate tooling solutions. You will work in a bilingual environment, leveraging Catia V5 and MS Office, and participate in project management activities to ensure tooling

Qualifications

• College diploma in mechanical manufacturing or aeronautics.
• 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Catia V5 drawing software.
• Bilingual in French and English.
• Experience in project management.

Responsibilities

• Analyze tool requests with production, methods support and engineering to identify innovative tooling solutions.
• Create, validate, and issue estimates and cost analyses for jigs used in manufacturing and assembly of aircraft components.
• Participate with tool designers in defining tool concepts.
• Issue order instructions to external suppliers per requirements and needs.
• Ensure rigorous follow-up of requests to minimize delays and inspect tools for conformity to drawings.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Work in collaboration with the production department, the aircraft methods support group and the engineering department in our manufacturing facilities to analyze tool requests in order to find innovative technological solutions that will improve the business performances,
• Create, validate, issue estimates and cost analyses for all types of jigs used in the manufacturing and assembly of aircraft components,
• Participate, along with the tool designers, in the definition of the tool concepts,
• Issue order instructions to allow our external suppliers to manufacture tools as per our requirements and specific needs,
• Ensure rigorous follow-up of each request to minimize delay,
• Inspect tools to ensure their conformity to drawings before delivery to production,
• Participate and support the aircraft methods support group and production during the first trial of the jigs,
• Provide technical support to the various production sectors,
• Assist operations during technical issues.
• Travel to different sites around the world, in order to carry out inspections and evaluations of various jigs.

How to thrive in this role?

• You have a college diploma in mechanical manufacturing or in aeronautics,
• You have 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment,
• You know Catia V5 drawing software (asset),
• You have experience in project management,
• You have technical knowledge in mechanical manufacturing,
• You can work in French and English,
• You have good manual experience in the field of specialized tools,
• You know the aeronautical field and more precisely the interior finishing assembly,
• You have an analytical mind and a good sense of organization,
• You have excellent communication skills and enjoy teamwork,
• You know the Microsoft office suite.
