Job summary

Bombardier in Dorval (Montreal area) seeks a Tool Maker to support tool and part requirements for template manufacture. You will work with Catia V5 to identify needs, coordinate with purchasing, and operate CNC and conventional equipment to shape and assemble template components.

Position involves handling lathes, mills, presses, and inspection using a CMM. Opportunities for growth in aerospace tooling and manufacturing processes are available at Bombardier.

Qualifications

• DEC Mechanical Engineering, or ASP Tooling.
• Basic knowledge of tolerances and GD&T.
• For CNCs, the ability to do simple programming (Mastercam) will be an important asset.
• Working knowledge of Tracker Lazer and Polyworks system (an asset).

Responsibilities

• Work in Catia V5 to identify the needs for tools and parts for the manufacture of templates (drawings established by the engineering/method departments).
• Request parts from the purchasing department.
• Operate conventional and CNC lathes/milling machines (Hyundai WIA).
• Operate press brakes, saws and drills to transform raw materials.
• Assemble the template parts and install them.
• Use a CMM inspection machine.
