Job summary

Bombardier in Montreal designs, builds and maintains aerospace components, offering a dynamic environment where you will contribute to high-precision NC programming for 5-axis machines. You will work closely with engineering to optimize tooling, routines and process flows while ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires strong CATIA V5 and VERICUT skills, GD&T knowledge, and the ability to read complex drawings.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in NC programming using CATIA V5 and VERICUT.
• Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes is an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Organized, works well under tight deadlines, and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Program aerospace components using CATIA V5 (5-axis machining).
• Generate and submit APT source programs; validate G-code with Vericut.
• Develop electronic work instructions for manufacturing (operator manuals).
• Troubleshoot machining issues to meet delivery schedules.
• Develop methods and macros to reduce programming time.
• Prepare machining strategy estimates including time estimates and cycles.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Program aerospace components using CATIA V5 (5-axis machining).
• Generate and submit APT source programs.Validate G-code output using Vericut Machine Simulation software.
• Develop electronic visual work instructions for component manufacturing (operator manuals/work packages).
• Participate in problem-solving activities to ensure delivery schedules and production deadlines are met.
• Develop and implement innovative programming methods to reduce programming time by creating and deploying macros and automated routines.
• Prepare machining strategy estimates, including programming time and machining cycle time for components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining-related issues affecting component quality and manufacturing performance.

How to thrive in this role?

• You hold a diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Aeronautical Engineering Technology, or possess other relevant experience.
• You have a minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in NC programming using CATIA V5 and VERICUT Machine Simulation.
• You have knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes (an asset).You are able to read and interpret technical drawings.
• You possess knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• You are organized and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
• You are creative and enjoy developing innovative methods and new ways of working.
• You are proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
• You have strong analytical skills and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment.
• You demonstrate a high level of autonomy and initiative.
• You are proficient in both French and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
