Job summary

Bombardier seeks a Methods Agent - Tooling to collaborate across production, engineering and methods teams in our manufacturing facilities. You will analyze tool requests, define concepts with designers and guide tool manufacturing from design to delivery.

You will inspect jigs, validate cost estimates, and support first trials while travelling to sites worldwide as needed. Fluency in English and French is expected.

Qualifications

• College diploma in mechanical manufacturing or aeronautics.
• 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient with Catia V5 drawing software.
• Experience in project management.
• Technical knowledge in mechanical manufacturing.
• Fluent in French and English.
• Good manual experience with specialized tools.
• Knowledge of aeronautics interior finishing assembly.
• Analytical and organized.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with production, methods support and engineering to analyze tool requests and drive innovative solutions.
• Create, validate, and issue estimates and cost analyses for jigs used in aircraft parts manufacturing.
• Define tool concepts with tool designers.
• Issue orders to suppliers to manufacture tools per requirements.
• Rigorous follow-up to minimize delays.
• Inspect tools for conformity to drawings before delivery.
• Support first jig trials with the methods group and production.
• Provide technical support to production sectors.
• Assist operations during technical issues.
• Travel to sites worldwide for jig inspections.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Work in collaboration with the production department, the aircraft methods support group and the engineering department in our manufacturing facilities to analyze tool requests in order to find innovative technological solutions that will improve the business performances,
• Create, validate, issue estimates and cost analyses for all types of jigs used in the manufacturing and assembly of aircraft components,
• Participate, along with the tool designers, in the definition of the tool concepts,
• Issue order instructions to allow our external suppliers to manufacture tools as per our requirements and specific needs,
• Ensure rigorous follow-up of each request to minimize delay,
• Inspect tools to ensure their conformity to drawings before delivery to production,
• Participate and support the aircraft methods support group and production during the first trial of the jigs,
• Provide technical support to the various production sectors,
• Assist operations during technical issues.
• Travel to different sites around the world, in order to carry out inspections and evaluations of various jigs.

How to thrive in this role?

• You have a college diploma in mechanical manufacturing or in aeronautics,
• You have 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment,
• You know Catia V5 drawing software (asset),
• You have experience in project management,
• You have technical knowledge in mechanical manufacturing,
• You can work in French and English,
• You have good manual experience in the field of specialized tools,
• You know the aeronautical field and more precisely the interior finishing assembly,
• You have an analytical mind and a good sense of organization,
• You have excellent communication skills and enjoy teamwork,
• You know the Microsoft office suite.
