Responsibilities

Tasks

• Check products for correct shapes, dimensions, and specifications
• Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment
• Shape and form metal stock into parts or products using cutting, bending, rolling, reaming, punching, drilling, welding, or other methods
• Set up and operate light or heavy metalworking machines
• Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions
• Transport materials manually or with equipment like cranes or hoists
• Measure and mark sheet metal according to templates
