Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking a Metallurgist for Macassa Mine in Ontario. This role reports to the Production Metallurgist and sits in the Process Plant Department.

You will oversee metallurgy lab testing, monitor refinery activities, and support mill performance improvements. Ideal candidates hold a science degree in metallurgy/chemical engineering or a related field and have hands-on gold processing experience, with strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• BSc in Metallurgical/Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Diploma with 5 years in gold metallurgy and supervision experience.
• Knowledge of gold processing including grinding, cyanide leaching, carbon absorption and refining.

Responsibilities

• Oversee metallurgical laboratory and testing following best practices.
• Monitor refinery operations including electrowinning and gold pouring activities.
• Develop and implement refinery and metallurgy lab procedures for daily use.
• Provide daily technical support to mill and lab operations.
• Interact with mill operations to maximize mill efficiencies in a safe, environmentally responsible manner.
