Job summary

Savaria designs, engineers and manufactures products to help people gain personal mobility. We are currently recruiting for a Metal Buffer/Grinder on our dayshift which operates from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Monday to Friday, with some occasional overtime. To perform various duties of electrical sub-assembly and final assembly of Elevator models, you must have a High School Diploma and 2-3 years assembly experience in a manufacturing environment, read English safety documents, and be able to lift

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 2-3 years assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with assistance when required.

Responsibilities

• Polish/clean aluminum and brass materials using hand tools including grinders and files.
• Prepare and pack items for secondary processes; create packing slips and keep records of completed work orders.
• Assist in electrical sub-assembly and final assembly of Elevator models.
• Maintain attention to detail and quality control during polishing and packing tasks.
• Collaborate effectively with team members in a manufacturing setting.

We are currently recruiting for a Metal Buffer/ Grinder working on our dayshift which operates from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, with some occasional overtime

Summary

To perform various duties of electrical sub-assembly and final assembly of Elevator models.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Must be familiar with hand tools including Grinders, Files and other tools to clean metal parts
• Position requires the operator to polish/clean aluminum/brass material and pack using for secondary process
• Creates packing slip for secondary process and keeps record of completed work orders.
• Education and Experience: High School Diploma and 2-3 years assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
• Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Other Skills and Abilities: Should possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Physical Demands: Lifting up to 35 lbs. unassisted is required from time to time

Assistance is available for weights above persons lifting capabilities.

The work environment of this job has the employee regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and is exposed to vibration from grinder. The employee works in a plant manufacturing facility that is regulated by heat in the cold months and flow through air in the warm months.
