Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. operates over 1,300 stores across North America, including Michaels in Toronto. This Merchandise Manager role focuses on merchandising execution, pricing integrity, and in-store standards to create a customer-ready environment.

Responsibilities include leading truck processing, inventory routines, planogram sets, and visual merchandising while ensuring promotional execution and strong workload planning. Night/early shifts are included.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in leading adherence to SOPs and Company programs to ensure compliance with laws and requirements.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty coverage, maintaining floor leadership and service standards.
• Lead truck execution processes, ensuring unloading, sorting, and flow of merchandise to the sales floor.
• Own workload planning and daily task prioritization with store leadership to align staffing with business needs.
• Execute and maintain Store-In-Stock Optimization routines to drive in-stock levels and replenishment accuracy.
• Oversee Planogram execution to ensure merchandising sets are completed on schedule.
• Establish and maintain visual merchandising standards and product presentation to company expectations.
• Support a clean, organized store environment, including backroom and sales floor recovery.
• Manage inventory control, ensuring product accuracy and proper stock movement.
• Execute ad sets with compliant promotional signage and product placement.
• Complete price changes accurately and on time, maintaining pricing integrity across the floor and systems.
• Oversee Ship from Store fulfillment, ensuring orders are picked, packed, and shipped efficiently.
• Process RTVs and ASN receiving with proper inventory adjustments.
• Manage store damages procedures and shrink reduction.
• Train, coach, and develop team members through TM onboarding and ongoing skill-building.
• Partner in maintaining Asset Protection practices to reduce shrink.
