Job summary

Vancouver Coastal Health (HOpe Centre) in North Vancouver, BC, is seeking a Mental Health and Substance Use Nurse (RN/RPN) to perform triage, initial screening, and allocation of referrals within a client- and family-centered framework.

You will deliver holistic nursing care, assessment, risk identification, and collaborative care planning, including psychoeducation and harm reduction, while supporting clients, families, and community supports.

Qualifications

• Current practicing registration as a RN or RPN with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Two years of recent experience providing nursing care for mental health or substance use conditions.
• Valid BC Driver's License for local travel.

Responsibilities

• Triage and screen referrals for urgency and appropriateness to guide care.
• Coordinate client allocations and ensure timely, priority-based assignments.
• Provide holistic nursing care, assessment, risk mitigation, and care planning.
• Deliver crisis response, counselling, and motivational interviewing; document in records.
