Qualifications

Job description

The Mental Health & Addictions Rehabilitation Worker supports a multidisciplinary care team and assists clients facing mental health, addiction, behavioral, and developmental challenges to live successfully in the community. Responsibilities include providing life skills coaching, advice, and support services to individuals and groups, determining daily care needs based on established treatment plans, facilitating employment opportunities, and supporting vocational and job skills training through hands-on work and daily projects.

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience
  1. Diploma in Community Social Services or a health-related program such as Human Services, Mental Health, Life Skills & Career Development, or Practical Nursing.
  2. Two (2) years recent, related experience.
  3. Recognized post-basic education related to mental illness and addiction, such as Counseling Skills training; knowledge of applicable legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and the Guardianship Act; understanding of available programs, their interrelationships, and their role in community care delivery.
  4. Knowledge of the local labour market; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  5. Current Standard First Aid/CPR Level C certification.
  6. Food Safe certificate.
  7. Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
