Reporting to the Manager or designate, the Nurse utilizes a holistic approach for client assessments, planning, organizing, and care implementation following the bio-psychosocial-spiritual model and established standards, policies, and practices. The Nurse provides care to clients with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders across various community settings, including detox, stabilization, in-home, and outreach for withdrawal management at multiple locations.
Travel may be required, and transportation arrangements must meet operational needs, potentially including the use of a personal vehicle.
Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN or RPN. Up to two years recent experience working with clients with addictions and concurrent disorders in settings such as detox, stabilization, in-home, and outpatient services.
Knowledge of Canadian Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing (2nd ed), current CPR and First Aid certifications, and applicable legislation. Knowledge of available community programs and services, their interrelationships, and their role in community care. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is acceptable.
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within the first three months of employment.
Experience working with adults and youth with mental health and substance use issues.
Valid BC Driver's License.
