Job summary

Valley First is seeking a Member Advisor to deliver frontline service by identifying member needs through thoughtful financial conversations and assisting with online banking setup. You will tailor financial solutions or refer to the appropriate advisor, fostering long-term member relationships.

The role involves building relationships, handling a full range of transactions, promoting digital channels, and supporting branch goals while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent education and/or experience required; College, Trade or Tech School Diploma (2 years) is an asset.
• Completion of Tru Cooperative Sales Essentials Course within 6 months of hire required.
• Must complete internal Tru Cooperative certification program specific to this role within the required timeframe.
• 2 years of retail/customer service experience or equivalent required.
• Sales and cash handling experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to identify needs and recommend products and services to members.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with current and potential members.
• Demonstrated ability to be positive, flexible to change and work in a busy environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Member Service: Builds strong relationships with current and potential members and provides financial advice or referrals.
• Member Transactions: Processes deposits, openings, and card activities; directs members to digital channels and promotes digital banking adoption.
• Branch Goals: Supports branch goals and cross-sell opportunities through proactive promotion of products and services.
• Other Responsibilities: Keeps up to date on trends, changes, and best practices; adheres to policies and productivity targets.
• Branch/Team Support: Collaborates as a team member and assists colleagues to complete tasks.
