Medical Technologist - Clinical Research Assistant

Location: Clinical Site

Position Type: Full-time

Description:

The Medical Technologist / Clinical Research Assistant reports to the Manager, Clinical Support. The role involves providing clinical support to the clinic and Clinical Research Coordinators before, during, and after patient visits.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring compliance with study protocols and understanding clinical procedures;
• Supporting Clinical Research Coordinators and investigators with tasks such as preparing materials for visits, answering patient questions, performing blood draws, ECG, blood pressure measurements, TEWL, medical photography, etc.;
• Managing research documents, ensuring quality control, and responding to queries;
• Handling medication management, follow-up of reports, and supporting specimen processing and shipping;
• Maintaining equipment, exam rooms, safety equipment, and training records;
• Supporting clinic organization and following SOPs.

Requirements:

Education:

• College degree as a medical technologist;
• License to perform blood draws.

Experience:

• Minimum years of experience in nursing; experience in clinical research is an asset;
• Experience working with patients and in clinical research.

Skills:

• Organized and autonomous;
• Basic knowledge of office software (Excel, Word);
• Good understanding of good clinical practices and relevant regulations (Health Canada, FDA).
