Job Overview:

Clinical laboratory personnel, as members of the health care delivery team, are responsible for ensuring reliable and accurate laboratory test results, which contribute to the diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and prevention of physiological and pathological conditions in humans. Quality clinical laboratory testing involves performing the correct test, on the right person, at the right time, producing accurate results, with the best outcome, in the most cost-effective manner.

Qualifications:

Required:

• BA/BS Degree in Medical Technology and/or related science.
• 2 to 3 years of clinical laboratory experience.

Preferred:

• National Certification
• Chemistry Experience

Scheduling Requirements:

• Per Diem
• Evening Shift
• Variable Days/Hours
• Alternating weekends and holidays

Essential Functions:

Performs all testing according to standard operating procedures, in all trained areas, maintaining desired turn-around times. Serves as a technical resource, troubleshooting specimens and interacting with medical and hospital staff as needed. Assists in training new employees and students. Performs quality control and proficiency testing, documenting all activities and taking corrective actions when necessary. Ensures proper calibration and maintenance of instruments, troubleshooting issues and communicating with supervisors. Demonstrates leadership and problem-solving skills, especially under stressful conditions, and promotes excellence within the team.
