Job Overview:

Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an Accredited Ultrasound School.
• ARDMS Certification required.
• Must be CPR certified.

Preferred:

• Minimum three years experience in a hospital setting performing Abdomen, OB/GYN, Small Parts, Thyroid, Vascular, Pediatric, Biopsies, and Interventional Procedures.
• RVT certification.

Essential Functions:

• Screen requisitions to ensure proper exams are being ordered and proper prep is called to the Nurse taking care of the patient.
• Ensure proper workflow is maintained.
• Maintain positive relationships between Radiologists and sonographers.
• Assist Lead Technologist and Supervisor in daily operations.
• Ensure proper documentation of ultrasound exams, including tracking and dictation in a timely manner.
• Initiate service calls and document them.
• Train fellow sonographers and students, especially with complex or new techniques.
• Apply age-specific competency, providing appropriate care to patients of all ages.
• Review co-workers' sonograms to ensure departmental policy compliance and provide educational feedback.
