Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to acute care patients within the LPN scope.
• Perform patient assessments, monitor health status, and report changes.
• Administer medications and prescribed therapies.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Provide wound care and post-operative care.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians and teams.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Adhere to infection prevention and safety policies.

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to acute care patients within the LPN scope of practice.
• Perform patient assessments, monitor health status, and report changes in condition.
• Administer medications, treatments, and prescribed therapies.
• Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Provide wound care, dressing changes, and post-operative care.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery processes.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed clinical documentation.
• Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and organizational policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Acute Care, Medical-Surgical, or Hospital nursing experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong clinical assessment, organization, and patient care skills.
• Experience administering medications and providing direct patient care in a hospital setting.
• Proven ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
