Job summary

Backline Outsourcing seeks a skilled Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) to join a Ontario healthcare team. The MRT will perform diagnostic imaging procedures safely and accurately, operate imaging equipment and maintain patient safety and comfort.

The successful candidate must meet Ontario regulatory requirements and hold registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO). A CAMRT certification and CPR/BLS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Medical Radiation Technology / Medical Radiation and Imaging Technology from an accredited or recognized program.
• Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) in the applicable specialty.
• Successful completion of the CAMRT certification examination.
• Current and relevant clinical experience as a Medical Radiation Technologist is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of radiation safety, patient care and diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Current CPR/BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic imaging examinations in accordance with established clinical protocols and safety standards.
• Prepare patients for examinations, explain procedures, and ensure their comfort.
• Operate and maintain radiographic and other applicable medical imaging equipment.
• Position patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Assess images for technical quality and determine whether additional images are required.
• Follow radiation safety procedures and minimize patient and staff exposure to radiation.
• Maintain accurate and complete patient records and examination documentation.
• Verify patient identification, examination requests and relevant clinical information before procedures.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures.
• Perform quality assurance and equipment checks as required.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable healthcare privacy requirements.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
• Comply with applicable hospital/facility policies, professional standards and regulatory requirements.
