We are seeking a Medical Office Manager to become a part of our team! You will coordinate medical and health services in our clinic.
Responsibilities :
- Respond to and ensure that patient inquiries and complaints are handled in an appropriate, timely, and satisfactory manner.
- Maintain and build positive relations with referring healthcare providers, hospital liaisons, and patients.
- Perform patient scheduling, inter-clinic communication, registration, medical records management, billing and collection, and cash posting.
- Complete patient billing using EMR systems.
- Handle telephone calls effectively.
- Data entry and processing for physician and corporate accounts.
- Develop, implement, and maintain office policies and procedures.
- Maintain office services by organizing operations and procedures; prepare payroll if required; review and approve supply requisitions if required.
- Communicate with technical support for EMR systems.
- Ensure compliance with current healthcare regulations, medical laws, and ethics.
- Maintain office efficiency by planning and implementing office systems, layouts, and equipment procurement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- Previous experience in healthcare or related medical fields.
- Fluency in both French and English, written and spoken; knowledge of other languages is an asset.
- Experience in a managerial role.
- Experience with TELUS PS Suite.
- Strong leadership qualities.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of business and accounting processes, usually obtained from an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Healthcare Administration is an asset.
- Certifications such as Certified Medical Secretary (CMS) or Medical Administrative Assistant Certificate are assets.
- Knowledge of medical terminology or a Basic Medical Terminology Certificate.
- Ability to communicate effectively by telephone and in person in an empathetic and patient-centric manner.
- Good judgment with the ability to work independently in a time-efficient manner.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, appointment scheduling, QuickBooks, and practice management software.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Working knowledge of OHIP codes and billing, with the ability to accurately bill and reconcile.
- Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Assets :
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR (Level C).
- Experience working with a culturally diverse clientele.
- Ability to speak other languages is a plus.
