Job summary

WELL Health Technologies Corp is seeking a Medical Office Assistant to support physicians at WELL Health Medical Centres - Bison in Winnipeg. This on-site role involves answering calls, scheduling, lab duties, patient check-in, and ensuring confidentiality while assisting care teams.

The position requires a high school diploma and strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills, with flexibility for evenings or weekends. Prior MOA or EMR experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Willingness to adapt to varying shifts (evenings/weekends).
  • Experience as MOA or MOA certification is an asset.
  • Experience with OSCAR EMR and MSP billing is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative duties: answer calls, greet patients, schedule appointments, manage referrals, billing.
  • Lab duties: collect specimens, perform basic tests, dispose of contaminated supplies, sterilize instruments.
  • Patient care duties: check in, prep, escort to exam rooms, prepare rooms, answer questions, post-appointment service, monitor waiting area.
  • General duties: maintain patient confidentiality and data security.
  • Perform other related clinical/administrative tasks as required by clinic management.

Position Summary:

The Company is currently searching for a motivated team player to join the exciting, fast-growing company. You will be working in a team-based environment to support physicians in delivering excellent patient care. If you love helping people, this job is for you.

What you will be doing:
  • Administrative duties - answer calls and greet patients in a helpful, respectful, and efficient manner, schedule appointments, manage referrals, result management and handle billing.
  • Lab Duties- include collecting and preparing laboratory specimens or perform basic laboratory tests on the premises, dispose of contaminated supplies, and sterilize medical instruments.
  • Patient Care duties - Coordinate patient care through the clinic: checking in, prepping, escorting to exam rooms, preparing exam or treatment rooms, answering questions, providing post-appointment service, monitoring the waiting room.
  • General duties - Ensure to keep patient information confidential and secure at all times.
  • Perform all other related clinical, administrative tasks or special tasks as required by clinic management.

  • High school diploma or the equivalent

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Ability to analyze, problem-solve and take the initiative.

  • Ability to work varying shift patterns as needed by the clinic (including evenings and weekends)
  • Experience as an MOA or MOA programs certification is an asset.
  • Experience with EMR system OSCAR and a good understanding of MSP billing are assets.

The salary for this position falls within a defined range and will be determined based on several factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and the needs of the organization.
