Job description

Grow your Laboratory career in the stunning Kootenay Rockies region! We have a full-time Core Lab Medical Laboratory Technologist opportunity now available at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (KBRH) in Trail, B.C. This position works a combination of days, evenings and night shifts. This is a permanent full-time position in hematology, with rotating shifts from 06:00 to 15:50, 13:00 to 22:50, 07:00 to 16:50, 15:00 to 00:50, and 21:40 to 07:30.

About The Job
MLTs work in a supportive, team-based environment and perform a variety of duties within the assigned discipline department. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Performing routine and/or complex tests, utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments.
  2. Entering data into the Lab Information System (LIS), related systems and programs.
  3. Validating and reporting test results.
  4. Maintaining instruments, preparing solutions and control agents.
  5. Contributing to training, evaluation and improvement programs.

About this location:
KBRH is a 75 bed acute care site in the Kootenay Boundary health service area and is responsible for providing core medical and surgical specialty services. Located in Trail, between Grand Forks and Nelson, KBRH offers services including core physician specialties, 24-hour emergency and trauma services, Level 2 laboratory, acute and obstetrical care, psychiatry, and chemotherapy.
