Job summary

Southlake Health in Newmarket, ON is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) to support clinical chemistry, hematology, and transfusion medicine. You will ensure accurate analyses and timely reporting of results while upholding professional standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a recognized Medical Laboratory Technology program.
• CSMLS certification as General MLT is required.

About the role:

The Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) provides a professional service in laboratory analyses and interpretation all areas of Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine/Immunology. The MLT contributes to the hospital’s goals by providing accurate and timely results in a manner consistent with professional standards. The MLT is a technical resource to staff, physicians, internal and external customers.

What you’ll bring:

• Graduate from a recognized Medical Laboratory Technology program and CSMLS certification as a General MLT
• 30 hours of continuing education credits every year as per CMLTO
• Member in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)
• Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated problem assessment skills
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork
• Demonstrated individual leadership skills
