Job summary

Southlake Health in Newmarket, ON is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) to perform analyses and provide accurate interpretation across clinical chemistry, hematology, and transfusion medicine. You will deliver timely results while supporting staff, physicians, and external customers to maintain high professional standards.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork, with a commitment to customer service and potential for leadership

Qualifications

• Graduate from a recognized Medical Laboratory Technology program and CSMLS certification as a General MLT.
• 30 hours of continuing education credits every year as per CMLTO Member in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO).
• Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated problem assessment skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork.
• Demonstrated individual leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional service in laboratory analyses and interpretation across Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, and Transfusion Medicine/Immunology.
• Deliver accurate and timely results in line with professional standards; act as a technical resource to staff, physicians, and external customers.
• Support hospital goals and ensure high-quality customer service through collaborative practice.

About the role:

The Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) provides a professional service in laboratory analyses and interpretation all areas of Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine/Immunology. The MLT contributes to the hospital’s goals by providing accurate and timely results in a manner consistent with professional standards. The MLT is a technical resource to staff, physicians, internal and external customers.
