Northern Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join the Laboratory department at Ksyen Regional Hospital. This role involves performing various lab procedures across disciplines such as Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology. Position Summary
Are you a Medical Laboratory Technologist looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Laboratory department.
Reporting to the Chief Technologist, the successful candidate will perform routine lab procedures and may rotate through various disciplines, including Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Microbiology, and Anatomical Pathology.
Shift Rotation/Hours of Work: Days, Evenings, Nights - 06:00 to 14:00, 08:00 to 16:00, 10:00 to 18:00, 14:00 to 22:00, 23:00 to 07:00, Rotating
Location: Ksyen Regional Hospital
The new Ksyen Regional Hospital, which welcomed its first patients on November 24, 2024, is more than double the size of the previous hospital. It features 82 beds, private rooms, and serves as a centre for trauma services, orthopedic surgeries, pathology, radiology, clinical support, and pharmacy services. The hospital is also a training site for medical students in the Northern Medical Program.
Community: Terrace is a vibrant community in northern BC, known for snow-capped mountains, pristine glacier-fed rivers, lakes, and streams. The population is approximately 12,700. The community offers nine elementary schools, four secondary schools, Northwest Community College, and a UNBC campus. It provides a rich outdoor lifestyle and diverse experiences.
