Job Description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. The requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Leader or designate, and working without general supervision, the Radiological Technologist works in a computerized environment, producing diagnostic radiographs as assigned and carrying out diagnostic procedures either independently or in collaboration with a radiologist or other physician. The role involves applying radiation safety principles to protect patients, staff, and the public, and completing required documentation and administrative tasks.

Qualifications:
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification as a Medical Radiation Technologist.
  • Graduation from an approved radiology technology program.
  • Eligible for membership in the CAMRT.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Physical ability to meet the job requirements.
  • Proficiency in operating related equipment, such as computers.
