South Okanagan General Hospital is an active, rural hospital serving the communities of Oliver, Osoyoos, and surrounding areas, with an average of 16,000 emergency visits per year. The hospital has 7 Emergency beds and 18 acute care beds, which operate at 100% capacity. It is co-located with an 80-bed long-term care facility and offers outpatient lab services.
This is a generalist Medical Laboratory Technologist position that provides interesting and varied work across all areas of the Core Lab, including hematology, chemistry, and blood bank. Typical duties include performing routine and complex tests with manual procedures and automated instruments, collecting and receiving specimens, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS), validating and reporting test results, maintaining instruments, and preparing solutions and control agents.
This is a Relief Full Time (1.00 FTE) opportunity until the incumbent returns.
