Job summary

Graduates of an approved Laboratory Assistants/Technician program with phlebotomy experience are required; experience with elderly clients and individuals with disabilities is an asset.

The position is full-time with a wage range of $30.49-$35.15 per hour, and is covered by the OPSEU 4104 Paramedical union.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistants/Technician training program.
• Experience in phlebotomy.
• Experience in working with elderly clients and individuals with a variety of disabilities an asset

Responsibilities

• Obtains blood and urine specimens from inpatients, outpatients, and staff when requested by Occupational Health Services
• Prepares samples and coordinates the referral of specimens to licensed laboratories for analysis and the subsequent distribution of test results
• Supports Point of Care Testing programs
• Helps to maintain equipment, inventory, and a safe working environment in the Laboratory
• Adheres to all departmental and organizational policies, including privacy and security policies
