Job summary

Alberta Precision Labs in Edson Healthcare Centre is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant I to provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

You will work in a 0.60 FTE temporary part-time role with flexible shift patterns and on-site duties,

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
• Equivalent is defined as completion of a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) and Combined Laboratory and Xray Technologist (CLXT) program in Canada; completion of a Medical Lab Technician/Technologist program outside of Canada; and MLT and CLXT students who have completed their phlebotomy training/rotation.

Responsibilities

• Procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.
• Create and manage profiles for future opportunities.
