Job summary

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant I for the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre in Fort McMurray. The role covers pre-analytical duties, specimen handling, phlebotomy, accessioning, and rapid result reporting in a 24/7 lab operation.

The successful candidate will complete an accredited MLA program, bring phlebotomy experience, and work well in a team. EPIC Beaker LIS experience is preferred. Fort McMurray Allowance applies.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program.
• Phlebotomy experience is required. Strong teamwork and time management are required.
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-analytical tasks including phlebotomy and specimen accessioning.
• Procure, process, dispatch and test specimens and report results.
• Provide support to the lab in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
