Job summary

Alberta Precision Laboratories’ Mobile Collections team supports mobile service areas in Medicine Hat, delivering high-quality collection services in long-term care facilities and private residences.

You will carry out specimen handling, testing and reporting results, ensuring safe, patient-focused care. Requirements include phlebotomy experience, ECG certification, and a valid driver’s license for a casual/relief schedule. Posting ends 14-SEP-2026.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
• Previous phlebotomy experience and ECG certification.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and a driver’s abstract acceptable to APL.
• Experience recognizing patients in distress and providing appropriate assistance.
• Experience with laboratory data entry.

Responsibilities

• Procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens;
• Performing procedures and reporting results.
• Provide high-quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner.
