Medical Imaging Research and PET Technologist

Join the Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) at UHN, a leading academic medical imaging department in Canada, supporting over 750,000 exams annually. We prioritize patient care, innovation, research, and education, and are committed to quality assurance and ongoing staff development. The JDMI Research Division specializes in MRI and PET imaging, and we are seeking a dedicated PET Technologist to support our operations.

Position Details:

• Part-time, 15 hours/week
• Location: Toronto General Hospital
• Department: JDMI Research Division
• Reports to: MRI Supervisor
• On-site work model
• Variable shifts, 24/7

Responsibilities:

• Perform nuclear medicine procedures and quality assurance for PET imaging
• Ensure MRI safety standards are maintained
• Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment
• Document procedures and results accurately
• Participate in meetings and research activities
• Serve as Radiation Safety Designate, responding to incidents and spills
• Assist in research, manuscript preparation, and data processing
• Maintain knowledge of PACS and other imaging systems
• Provide patient care and education as required

Minimum Qualifications:

• Certification in Nuclear Medicine from a recognized institution
• Current registration with CMRITO and ongoing CE requirements
• Completion of an accredited medical imaging program or equivalent
• Minimum of three years recent clinical experience in Nuclear Medicine
• Competence in operating PET equipment; ability to order radiopharmaceuticals
• Experience with radiopharmaceutical administration and radiation safety
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills
• Ability to work accurately in high-pressure environments
