Medical Imaging Research and PET-MR Technologist

Join the Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) at UHN, one of Canada's largest academic medical imaging departments, performing over 750,000 exams annually. We prioritize patient care, innovation, and research, with a dedicated team of over 700 staff and 90 radiologists. Our department is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and the Michener Institute of Education.

The JDMI Research Division specializes in MRI and PET. As a valued team member, you will support both MRI and PET functions.

Responsibilities

• Build MRI protocols according to research guidelines
• Perform PET-MRI and MRI procedures to aid diagnosis and treatment
• Follow MRI safety standards at all times
• Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment
• Document procedures and results accurately
• Participate in research meetings and support manuscript preparation
• Contribute to teaching, training, and quality improvement activities
• Utilize PACS for image review, manipulation, and archiving
• Perform related patient care responsibilities
• Follow hospital and departmental research policies

Minimum Qualifications

• Post-diploma MRI certification and recognized training
• Certification in Nuclear Medicine (asset)
• Completion of anatomy and contrast injection courses
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Level LL certification
• At least 3 years recent clinical MRI experience
• Registration with CMRITO and membership with CAMRT
• Ability to operate PET equipment (asset)
• Experience with radiopharmaceuticals and radiation safety
• Strong technical skills, accuracy, and ability to work under stress
• Excellent communication and time management skills
