Job summary

Intellijoint Surgical Inc. is seeking a Software Test Specialist to join our R&D team in Kitchener, Ontario.

This hands-on role focuses on verifying and validating software and system functionalities across multiple product teams, ensuring quality before release. You will collaborate with software, hardware, and product teams in a cross-functional environment, conducting Agile sprint testing and formal verification activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of professional testing experience with products involving software and hardware.
• Experience testing in Linux and macOS environments.
• Experience testing web-based and cloud-connected applications.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and product development processes.
• Familiarity with prototyping, 3D printing, and CAD software (e.g., Solidworks, Creo).
• Familiarity with cybersecurity, interoperability and connectivity testing.
• Experience with medical devices and ISO/IEC standards is a strong asset.
• Attention to detail and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint activities.
• Perform day-to-day software testing across the sprint (functional, integration, regression, exploratory, usability).
• Identify, reproduce, document and track defects through resolution.
• Review and update test cases to align with evolving requirements.
• Develop and maintain verification and validation test plans, protocols and reports.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, systems and product teams to define verification strategies.
