Job summary

Aviya Aerospace Systems in Mississauga, Ontario, and Longueuil, QC, is seeking Software Verification Engineers to join our Software team and drive the validation, verification and release of embedded software for airworthy control systems.

• A minimum of 3 years of airworthy software verification experience per DO-178C or equivalent safety-critical standards.
• Experience reviewing software architecture and both high-level and low-level requirements.
• Experience with embedded software testing methodologies and tooling.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the Software team on validation, verification and release of embedded software for airworthy control systems.
• Review software architecture, high level requirements and low level requirements against product and software requirements.
• Conduct source code reviews and analysis to ensure compliance with design documents and standards.
• Perform RequirementsBasedTesting (Unit Testing, Software Integration Testing & Hardware/Software Integration Testing per DO-178C Levels A–C).
• Contribute to process improvements and perform additional related duties as required.

We have openings for Software Verification Engineers to join our engineering groups in Mississauga, Ontario and Longueil, QC.

Specific Position Duties

• Work as part of the Software team on activities associated with the validation,verificationand release of embedded software solutions forairworthycontrol systems.You will help ensure the safety and reliability of flight control systems through rigorous software verification.
• Reviewsoftware architecture, high levelrequirementsandlow levelrequirementsagainst product and software requirements.
• Conduct source code reviews and analysis to ensure compliance with design documents and standards.
• Perform RequirementsBasedTesting (Unit Testing (UT), Software Integration Testing (SIT) & Hardware/Software Integration Testing (HSIT) as per DO-178C Level A, B and C guidelines.
• Contribute toprocess improvements and performadditionalrelated duties asrequired.

Qualifications for Position

• Bachelor’s orMaster’s degree in Computer or Software Engineering(Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering considered with Computer Science minor).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience inairworthysoftware verificationfollowingDO-178Cstandard orequivalent safety-critical certification standards (medicalorautomotive).
• Proficiencyin Cand C++ programming languagesfor embedded softwaredevelopment.
• Experience withscripting languages(PythonorPerl)fortest development and automation.
• Familiaritywith version control systemssuch as Git or SVN.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Self-learner withanability to take initiative to improve their own skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience withMatlab/Simulink toolsorPytestis an asset.
• Familiarity withassembly languagesand the intricacies oflow-level codingare an asset.
• Familiarity with Rational DOORSTooland Problem Reporting Toolsarean asset.
