Job summary

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is seeking an MDRD Technician to receive, disassemble, and sterilize instruments and equipment used across Surgical Services and other hospital areas. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to infection control standards.

Locations include Huntsville and Bracebridge campuses; the candidate must reside within 125km or relocate. Shifts include days, evenings, nights, and weekends per collective agreement.

Qualifications

• Required: Secondary School Diploma and MDRAO Certification in MDR Techniques.
• Able to operate medical device reprocessing related equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Receive, disassemble, package and sterilize instruments, supplies and equipment.
• Handle tools used in Surgical Services and other hospital departments.
• Follow established MDR procedures and safety guidelines.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with infection control standards.

ROLE

As aMedical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD) Technician working a Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare you will receive, disassembles packages and sterilizes simple and complex instruments, supplies and equipment including tools used in Surgical Services and other Hospital departments

Required Education & Certification(s)

• Secondary School Diploma
• MDRAO Certification in MDR Techniques

Required Skills & Experience(s)

• Ability to operate medical device reprocessing related equipment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to interpret instructions and fulfil as requested
• Experience with Healthcare oriented software programs
• Ability to exercise good judgement, take initiative and work independently

Additional Information

Location: Multi-Site, working on site at both the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville. Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting. *Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis

Hours of Work:

Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.
