Job summary

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is seeking a Casual Medical Device Reprocessing Technician to support both Huntsville and Bracebridge campuses. You will receive, disassemble, and sterilize instruments and equipment used across Surgical Services and other hospital areas.

Required education: Secondary School Diploma. Skills include operating reprocessing equipment, clear communication, knowledge of medical terminology, and ability to follow instructions.

Qualifications

• Secondary School Diploma required.
• Ability to operate medical device reprocessing equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with healthcare software programs is an asset.
• Ability to interpret instructions and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Receive, disassemble, and sterilize simple and complex instruments, supplies and equipment.
• Prepare instruments for use in Surgical Services and other hospital departments.
• Follow sterilization and safety protocols as required.

ROLE

As aMedical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD) Technician working a Muskoka Algonquin Health c are you will receive, disassembles packages and sterilizes simple and complex instruments, supplies and equipment including tools used in Surgical Services and other Hospital departments

REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)

Secondary School Diploma

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)

Ability to operate medical device reprocessing related equipment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of medical terminology

Ability to interpret instructions and fulfil as requested

Experience with Healthcare oriented software programs

Ability to exercise good judgement, take initiative and work independently

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Location: Multi-Site, working on site at both the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville. Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting. *Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis

Hours of Work: Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.
