Prairieview Surgical Centre, a division of Clearpoint Health Network, is hiring MDR technicians for casual roles. The successful candidate will clean, disassemble, reassemble and sterilize reusable medical devices for the surgical suite, following aseptic technique and strict quality controls.

Role requires strong English communication, adherence to infection control policies and the ability to work on your feet in a busy environment.

Formación

• Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing program.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
• Recent experience in a medical device reprocessing environment is an asset.

Responsabilidades

• Disassemble, clean, assemble, function test, package, sterilize and store reusable medical devices, equipment and supplies used in surgical suite.
• Collaborates with all members of the health care team.
• Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and storage procedures.
• Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• Participates in educational programs as required.
• Assists with orientation and support for new staff to the facility.
• Performs related duties as assigned by leader.

Prairieview Surgical Centre, a division of Clearpoint Health Network is Hiring MDR technicians Casual Role.

Position Summary

The medical device reprocessing (MDR) technician is responsible for the cleaning, disassembly, reassembly and sterilization of surgical supplies, equipment and reusable medical devices. Principles of aseptic technique shall be used, and routine infection control practices shall be followed.The MDR technician will ensure that reusable medical devices are in proper working order, perform biological indicator, chemical indicator and other quality assurance testing and report problems to the supervisor.

MDR technicians are on their feet, walking or standing for much of their shift.They may be required to bend, reach, lift and move equipment and supplies.MDR technicians are exposed to strong chemicals and bio-hazardous materials while doing their jobs.Their work areas can be noisy and busy and, at times, can be challenging or stressful.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with all members of the health care team.
• Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies, medication administration and storage procedures and controlled substances regulations.
• Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• Disassemble, clean, assemble, function test, package, sterilize and store reusable medical devices, equipment and supplies used in surgical suite.
• Participates cooperatively and communicates effectively with team members.
• Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
• Participates in educational programs as required.
• Assists with the orientation and support for new staff to the facility.
• Performs related duties as assigned by leader.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing program.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
• Recent experience in a medical device reprocessing environment as asset.
