Job summary

Prairieview Surgical Centre, a division of Clearpoint Health Network, is hiring a Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) technician on a casual basis. The role involves cleaning, disassembly, reassembly and sterilization of surgical supplies and reusable devices, using aseptic technique and QA testing as required.

The MDR technician will work with the health care team, maintain infection control compliance, and support orientation for new staff.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing program.
• Fluent reading, writing, speaking English.
• Recent MDR experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, assemble, function test, package, sterilize and store reusable medical devices, equipment and supplies used in surgical suite.
• Collaborate with health care team and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Adhere to infection control policies and controlled substances regulations.
• Participate in orientation and support for new staff to the facility.
• Perform related duties as assigned by leader.
