Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Daysland is seeking a Casual/Relief Surgical Processor to decontaminate, reassemble and sterilize hospital supplies, equipment and surgical instrumentation. You will apply aseptic technique and Universal Precautions to prevent infections and ensure all instruments are checked for proper function.

The role requires completion of an MDR program with HSPA or CSA certification, and you will report issues to the supervisor while supporting quality assurance testing.

• Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program.
• HSPA certification or CSA certification is required.

Job description

As a Surgical Processor, you will be responsible for the decontamination, reassembly and sterilization of hospital supplies, equipment and surgical instrumentation. You will use the principles of aseptic technique and follow Universal Precautions in the prevention of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI). You will ensure instrumentation and equipment is in proper working order, perform biological, chemical and quality assurance testing and report problems to the supervisor or designate.
