Job summary

LASIK MD in Edmonton South seeks a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician to maintain sterile instruments and support ophthalmology services. You will receive, decontaminate, clean, assemble, wrap, sterilize and store instruments, while keeping accurate records and following FIFO practices.

The role includes routine sterilization testing and equipment maintenance, in a permanent full-time schedule. The ideal candidate holds a Sterile Processing Technician certificate or Medical Device

Qualifications

• Recognized Sterile Processing Technician certificate or MDR course (CSA or IACHSMM/HSPA required).
• Physical ability to carry out duties as required.
• Eye for detail, sound judgment, and alertness.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, clean, decontaminate, assemble, wrap, sterilize and store instruments.
• Receive, sort, disassemble, and reprocess supplies; rotate stock (FIFO).
• Maintain records of sterile items and sterilization tests (Bowie-Dick, BI’s).
• Perform cleaning duties, restock shelves, and ensure proper storage of equipment.

Your tasks at a glance

• You are the master of keeping our tools clean and sterile.
• You receive, sort, disassemble, decontaminate, clean, assemble, wrap, sterilizeand storeinstruments.
• You keep accurate records of sterile items.
• You make sure to rotatestock (FIFO) and reprocessoutdated supplies.
• You performdesignated cleaning duties, restocks shelves, cupboards and carts according to established written policies/procedures.
• You areresponsible for maintaining, testing and keeping records of sterilization tests (Bowie-Dicks, BI's, etc.) and regular maintenance and testing of the Ultrasonic.

• You possess a recognized Sterile Processing Technician certificate or a Medical Device Reprocessing course (MDR) (Current CSA or IACHSMM/HSPA required).
• You have the physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

• Experience in a medical practitioner’s office, customer service and/or patient care or other medical administrative experience is an asset.
• You are available to work Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in rotation.
